SAFETY TOE TYPE
WORK BOOT SAFETY TOE TYPES
Selecting the right work shoes for your job is a critical part of workplace safety. There are three primary safety toe options, each with different features. Because our boots have a wider safety toe box, you will have more comfort when working, no matter which toe type you select.

STEEL TOE
Steel safety toes are the industry standard and have been for years. Steel toe work boots and shoes provide protection from falling objects and equipment.

ALUMINUM TOE
Aluminum toe (alloy toe) work boots are made of lightweight materials and tend to be about 30 to 50 percent lighter than steel. Aluminum toe boxes provide the same level of safety as steel but offer a bit more room since aluminum is a thinner material.

COMPOSITE (NON-METAL) TOE
Composite toe work boots and shoes contain non-metallic safety toe caps and are lighter than steel toe shoes. Composites are a great choice for those performing work where safety is important. Composite toe caps have better electrical resistance and are ideal for those working in electrical environments. Because composite toes are metal-free, they do not conduct heat and cold and are good for work in extreme high or low temperatures.
CARBON NANOFIBER
Hoss Boot Company also offers work boots and shoes with a carbon nanofiber safety toe. Carbon nanofiber material, a type of composite, offers the lightest and most advanced safety toe available today. The weight of these toes is 50 percent less than steel and 40 percent less than standard composite toe caps.
